Erin Vivion
Erin’s practice focuses on U.S. and international trademark prosecution, enforcement, and portfolio management, including handling matters within the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). She has established connections to the technology industry and has assisted both early-stage and larger companies with trademark, contract, and domain name matters.
Before joining Coates IP, Erin worked as an associate for a boutique intellectual property firm in San Francisco, gaining litigation experience in federal trademark, Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA), copyright, and Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) cases, including before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Erin’s litigation experience informs her approach to helping clients build and protect their brands. Erin has also assisted domain industry clients with disputes both in federal court and under WIPO's Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) and has previous experience with ICANN policy work. In law school, Erin interned with eBay’s IP group and Sun Microsystem’s trademark group, acquiring impactful insight into in-house brand protection and enforcement procedures. Before completing her undergraduate studies, Erin was a professional ballerina with the Houston Ballet and Ballet West. Passionate about the arts, she devotes time advocating for and supporting the cultural sector in Washington State and beyond. |
